Description: Pantai Tanayae is one of the most beautiful beaches on the east-coast with soft yellow sand lined with overhanging coconut trees. Pantai Tanayae is the middle section of a 3 kilometers long beach along the east coast of Tuhemberua sub-district, consisting of Fofola, Botogawu, Tanayae and Ladara beaches. Tanayae Beach is 800 meters long and 10 to 15 meters wide depending on the tide. The water in front of the beach is protected and there are no strong currents or large waves here. It is a good, safe place for swimming. There are several families living next to the beach and fishermen use the beach as a boat landing.
Access: Easy access, less than an hour’s drive from Gunung Sitoli. Follow the main east coast road through Tuhemberua sub-district. Upon reaching a large bay, continue until the road runs very close to a long beach. This is Tanayae beach. There are no access roads to drive onto the beach, visitors usually park along the road and walk 20-30 meters to the beach.
